Lorna Meldrum, a woman who has lived next to Central Park all her life has written a fantastic book about the history of the park called 'Plymouth Central Park - A Walk Through Time' the book has been written on behalf of the Friends of Central Park and contains some great stories about how it was created 1931 forming two farms and a parcel of land including Pounds house.
Lorna has always lived near the park and was keen to ensure she raised awareness of this precious asset.
Dozens of copies of the book have been sold already and Lorna plans to take the book around Plymouth's schools to help teachers with history projects.
The book contains stories about Gilbert Lane, which is 800 years old and Pounds House which was built between 1825 and 1829 by banker, Williams Hodge.
Copies of the book are available at local events and at the pitch and putt hut in the park at a cost of £5.
